Wife Swap

Each week from across the country, two families with very different values are
chosen to take part in a two-week long challenge. The wives from these two
families exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover
just what it's like to live another
woman's life. It's a mind-blowing experiment that often ends up changing their
lives forever.
In the first week of the swap, the wives move in with their new family and adopt
their very different lifestyle. They agree to follow a manual written by the
departing wife that sets out the rules of their new household -- how they
parent, shop, do the house work, manage their budgets and their social
life. But then, in the second week, everything changes. The new wives take
charge. They introduce their own set of rules and get to run the new household
their way. It's a radical shock to both families. The results are explosive,
enlightening and often very funny. This is a show about the things that really
matter to families across America.
At the end of the show, the two couples meet for the first time. In a
highly-charged exchange of views, both couples make a frank assessment of each
other and talk about what they've learned from the experience.
Most often, they pick families that are radically different from theirs. I know
that this would never work for my family as they would most likely pick someone
that is into witchcraft (they have done this as they moved a witch into a
Christian family) and I would not tolerate bring anything into my house that is
associated with witchcraft.
What I have often found interesting is when the families are reunited after the
two weeks. They are taken by limo to the place where both couples meet but the
limos always park about 50 yards away from each other. I believe this is to see
how the couples reunite with their own spouse. Some walk, others run to each
other. I have often thought about the Song of Solomon chapter 1, verse 4:
"Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought
me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy
love more than wine: the upright love thee" when I see this.
Of course, in this verse, Solomon is referring to his wife but I see other
implications too.
I wonder, for many who are having troubled marriages, would it be different if
we were drawn to our spouse as Solomon was drawn in this verse? If we are apart
from our loved ones for some extended period of time, would we run to them…or
would we walk casually?
If we went without water for several days and then came upon a fountain of fresh
water, would we take our time getting there?
As the deer panteth after the water, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. (Ps
42:1)
My friend, there is NO ONE that loves you more then your Creator. No one has done more for you than HE has.
His love went on longing His love went on reaching right
past the
shackles of my mind. And the Word of the Father, became Mary's
little son and His love reached all the way to where I was
And so this great creator who who'd been reaching all along
This God who formed the World with His own Hand
Made love become a baby. One of our very own
And spoke His word so we could understand.
His love went on longing His love went on reaching right past the
shackles of my mind. And the Word of the Father, became Mary's
little son and His love reached all the way to where I was
Reaching, Longing, Longing and searching
And the longing and the reaching became Mary's little son and His
love reached all the way to where I was
If you were to see Jesus, Jesus with His arms outstretched
toward you, would you ignore Him? Would you casually walk to Him….or would you
run to hold those nailed scarred hands…those precious hands that were pierced
for you?
For those here in Shattered Men that long for a relationship with your family,
please remember that GOD longs for a relationship with… YOU! If you do not
know the peace and joy of this relationship I firmly believe that GOD is drawing
you right now. He is calling
your name I plead with you….to run to HIM! He is only…a whisper away!
I want to draw nearer to Jesus,
Closer then I've been before
Nobody loves me like Jesus
I want to draw near to my LORD.
Nearer, nearer Closer then I've been before
Nearer, nearer Closer then I've been before.
Draw me, we will run after thee. This is how:
