NO VACANCY!

We have seen them! They are on signs in front of motels as we travel the highways. "No Vacancy" Even the smallest children know about the most famous "no vacancy" at a hotel. It occurred a bit over 2,000 years ago when there was no room at the inn for a man who
was with a young teenager who was about to give birth, not to just any baby, but to a very special one, the LAMB of GOD. Instead of a hospital or even this motel room, this very special LAMB..was born in a stable and His first bed was a feeding trough because there was no
room in the inn.

We can move forward to Christmas 2005. We still find that there is no room for this very special Lamb. We find there is no room in our commercials to mention HIM. Instead of "Merry Christmas" we have "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" Instead of being urged to buy "Christmas gifts" we are instead told of all sorts of "holiday gifts" many of which will be opened, and soon discarded, with little thought to the real reason for the season.

We can drive down the streets of our towns and cities to find snow flakes, santa clauses, reindeer and snowmen. Seldom do we see a manger anymore. There is no room for the Christ Child.

The First time this Lamb came, HE came as a baby. His arrival offended many at that time. The ruler of that time even tired to murder all of the babies born around that time to eliminate a possible threat to his throne. It has not stopped even today. Many of those that are not ashamed to bear HIS name are being murdered today. You see, HIS name still offends many.

Odd is it not that we have "seasons greetings and holiday gifts because HIS name may offend 5% of the population and as a result many of those that do claim HIS name will bow down to this 5% and eliminate HIS name. Many will compromise so we will not be called
intolerant. "Tolerance!" Have you noticed that every other religion is tolerated but one? Romans 1:16 says" "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."

Have you noticed the stores that make 20% of their money on Black Friday when people buy CHRISTMAS presents do not mind taking the money...but they sure do not want to offend NON Christians who may not spend their few dollars there.

I have found a few things that offend more then anything else.

1: The name...JESUS. satan does not mind people being religious but he sure does not want that religion to be based upon the Jesus of the Bible. It is at the name of JESUS that people are saved.

2: The BLOOD (of the Lamb) Many so called Christian churches never talk about the redeeming power of the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST any more. If we take the blood out..we take the POWER out too because it is the Blood that paid the price for our sin. Many of our great
songs of faith talk about HIS blood...The Blood that Jesus shed for me, way back on Calvary will lose its power, There is Power in the Blood, Washed in the Blood, and Nothing but the Blood are just some of them.

3: The CROSS. Many churches do not talk about the Cross any more either. OH they may tell about the death of Christ, but they will not mention the CROSS.

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Philippians 3:18
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

There is only one reason I can think of for the reason the cross offends so many.

Jesus said in John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. In verse 33 we are told it signified what death he should die.

No vacancy! There was none at the inn 2,000 years ago. There is none in our stores today. There is no vacancy for the Christ child most of our homes today but I want to remind you....Christmas is NOT about a baby in a manger. It is not about 3 wise men but I assure you
wise men STILL seek HIM! It is not about shepherds or singing carols. Christmas is prove that although many deny God exist that GOD recognizes that we exist. It is GOD reaching down to man to redeem us from a debt we can not pay. The manger was a stepping stone to a cross...and an EMPTY TOMB. It is this empty tomb that
proves beyond all doubt that Jesus is who HE said HE was...and still is today.

We see many "no vacancy signs put out for Jesus all around us...but ...my friend...how about YOU? Do you have a no vacancy sign out for the LORD? Does HE have access to ALL of you?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

Jesus gave HIS all for us. We need to give ourselves to HIM and after that, the greatest gift we can give HIM is PRAISE.
