"Trading Spaces" / "While You Were Out"
"Trading Spaces" and "While You Were Out" are two
popular programs on The Learning Channel. In Trading Spaces, two couples who
live near each other trade home for two days and during that time, they remodel
a room in each home without the owners seeing the results until they are
finished. Most of the time, each of them likes the results. However, sometimes,
it is a disaster.
In "While You Were Out", the wife or husband will get their spouse out of town
for 2 days to visit relatives, go on a mini vacation or some other effect so
that a crew can come in and redo some room in their home "while they are out"
Most of the time, they like the results.
However what about US? WE can trade spaces too. We too can have some remodeling
done "while we are out" I can assure you, in these cases....we will NOT like the
results.
Trading Spaces: Spiritually we can trade spaces with the enemy. How? By
willfully listening to someone we know or at least suspect has twisted the Word
of God. They may be telling us what we WANT to hear. Could this be the reason
some go to one church after another trying to find the "right" church? Could it
be why some go to one counselor after another until they find one that will tell
them what they want to hear, someone that will allow them to give excuses for
why they can not forgive? Why they can not do the things God wants them to do?

God's Word tells us to avoid trading spaces with those that would want to change
what HE has ordered for us.
Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things
are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever
things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have
both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace
shall be with you.
Thinking of trading spaces? Be careful who you decorator is.
We can also have our minds redecorated while we were out. In this case, I assure
you once again, we will not like the results. Oh, at this time, you may be
asking "what do you mean, while I am out?" "I can not be out can I"
Oh yes you can my friend. We can be out by the use of drugs and alcohol or by
allowing anything that will lower our guard to the influence of anything that
would "redecorate" our mind. This would include the occult, including things
like mind control and hypnosis

God's Word warns us to renew our mind to conform to HIM.
Romans 12
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God.
You see, when we trade spaces, or go out and allow this redecorating to be done,
we are never asked and do not have to give permission for it to be done. Just
the fact that we are out of our own "homes" is grounds enough for the
redecorating to be done. God tells us to be on guard to prevent this.
Acts 20
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the
Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath
purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among
you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw
away disciples after them.
Oh yes, God does want to do our redecorating. There is one major difference
between the redecorating HE does, and that satan does. HE ASKS permission before
HE Does it. You see, JESUS does not come where HE Is not invited. HE stands in
the shadows waiting to be called. HE is there instantly the moment any one
whispers His name but still after we accept Him for salvation , HE will not do
anything HE is not given permission to do. Oh, HE will point out the things that
need to go, He will reveal the scars that need to be opened to get the puss and
the infection out, but still HE waits, waits to be allowed to clean us up.
Isaiah 64
7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take
hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because
of our iniquities.
8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter;
and we all are the work of thy hand.
9 Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold,
see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
My friend, Have you traded spaces or been out? It is not too late to restore
what was taken.
Joel 2:25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the
cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent
among you.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ for salvation, all your decorating as been
done by one that only wants to destroy you. If it were a home, all the paint
would be lead based, The electrical system would be faulty, the floor would be
made out of cardboard and the basement filled with shark filled water waiting
for you to fall thought the floor.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly.
THIS is the time you do NEED to trade spaces...come to JESUS now and HE will
rebuild you. HE will make all things new and you WILL be up to code.
