The hidden half of domestic violence

How to have eternal life

Over the last several years, several have questioned my priorities.
Some have told me they simply want help with a problem, perhaps a
quick fix? I have had men that have simply wanted their wife back,
and women who have simply wanted their husband back. Often, this is
the most essential thing on their mind. Nothing else matters but this
one thing.

Others want to have a happier home life and I sure can understand
this. Of course those that are abused want it to stop. I would be
concerned if they did not want it stopped, but some want to change
only the other person without considering what they need to do to
help the situation. When this ministry was started, I could find
few resources even of a secular nature on the net. There are several
resources of this nature available now, but Shattered Men is still
the only Biblical resource that I personally know of. Oh, there
are "Christian" resources that focus only on abused women, and often
they will not even give a man seeking help the time of day. THIS my
friend is NOT Biblical for we are told always to be ready to give an
answer to every man (person) a reason for the hope that lays within
us. I see this as meaning that we need to reach out to help ANYONE
that God sends our way. THIS is the reason Shattered Men ministers
to women also.

Now back to the reason for this message. Several have wanted a quick
fix, to resolve the presenting problem without reference to the
Bible. My friends, I can NOT do that. One of the first messages
in this group was written about a week after it was started. It is
called The FIRST step in Better Relationships. It is the focal
point of this much so that EACH of the over 650 pages
on our web site has a link to this most important message.

You see, in order to have a right relationship with anyone else, we
need a right relationship with our creator first. We need a right
relationship with GOD. When this is done, other relationships will
fall into place.

Lets look at why I firmly believe this:

When Christ was talking about the cares of this world, about meeting
the needs of, clothen, shelter, HE said to take no
thought of tomorrow. (this is in Matt chapter 6) I believe this can
be extended to interpersonal relationships too. Christ ended that
discourse with this statement:

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

In verse 21 Christ said: "For where your treasure is, there will
your heart be also."

My friend, where is our treasure? Is it in our wife? Our husband?
Another human being? Do we treasure this person more then we
treasure GOD Himself?

Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the
whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in
exchange for his soul?

I could spend a lot of time and perhaps help someone get things in
order without use of the Bible. Without referring to the FIRST Step
and maybe they could go on and have 50 or even 70 wonderful years
together, but if they do not have a right relationship with
GOD...what does it matter? WHAT does it matter? I focus on this
FIRST because NONE of us are promised a tomorrow. YES..if I explain
this first and they do not want to go with this approach, I WILL do
my best to help without the use of Scripture, but I HAVE to try this
first....It is my mandate from my LORD!

Imagine having a terminal illness, an illness for which you WILL die
in a few weeks but there is ONE cure and one cure only and because
that cure may make you hurt a little while it takes effect, you
refuse that cure. What is the doctor to do? Oh sure, they may try
to make you feel more comfortable, but imagine the heartache that
doctor would have knowing he has the solution BUT....

Another reason for the focus on Scripture:

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which
I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

What I say does not matter. What GOD says...DOES. HE made us. He
ought a know how to run us. When we submit to HIS will, things will
work out.

Finally, It is my JOB to do it this way. I have not been hired by a
social service agency or a human counselor. I have been hired by
GOD. Oh the pay is not that good....but the retirement plan is out
of this world.

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as
though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be
ye reconciled to God.

An ambassador represents the interest of his country. This world is
not my home. I am a citizen of heaven and I have to represent my
LORD. It breaks my heart to see those that come here, look around
and leave because they do not want "religion" I am not
pedaling "religion" anyway. Again, if you are one of these people
reading this message now, I will do my best to help you without
referring to the most important thing in my life...My relationship
with God...but it is like that doctor that is trying to help someone
without them taking the only cure. I will do my best...but I want
God's best for you...not MY best.

THIS is where it starts my friends, THIS...for if we really seek
HIM...we WILL find HIM!

Matthew 7
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock,
and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he
give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give
good things to them that ask him?

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and ALL these things shall be added unto you.

If you have not taken that first step please check this link and do
it it NOW.....
