NO PARKING OR STANDING

We have all seen the signs. We are late for an appointment and pull into a spot just large enough for our car and then we see it... NO PARKING OR STANDING. Often these signs have "LOADING ZONE" on them, which allows only the appropriate cars or trucks to park there.

When I see these signs I have wondered. I have wondered about the thoughts that sometimes come to mind. Many of those here in Shattered Men have had problems with inappropriate thoughts. Those with a history of abuse often turn to things like pornography, as a means to feel wanted, to feel loved. satan will not tell us that people in these things do not love us. That we are only be used by them. But still it is a very common problem, especially when we were abused as children. Adults suffering from abuse often turn to these things as a means to reaffirm that they are valued also. When we do realize we are only being used, we try to get out of the situation only to find the thoughts keep coming back. It is not wrong to think of these things...briefly. It is the dwelling on them that is wrong...that is SIN.

Would not it be a good idea to place NO PARKING OR STANDING signs in our thoughts?

How can we go about doing this? Well if a semi is parked in that zone... we will not even try to park there will we? Let the following be our semi!

Philippians 4
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

There are some here that have never experimented with these things. PLEASE do not do so. Any of us who have been into this would love to be able to go back and NOT get into this garbage again. We would love to not have thoughts pop into our head that we do not wish to have there. Yes we do get stronger as time goes by, but we always have to be on guard. satan does try to implant these things in our minds. Even when we are in the chat room with other Christians in these clubs, we have had IM’s come in asking us to check such and such out.  I am thankful that our groups now can moderate all new members so that we can make sure these things do not make it to the boards  but what about your e-mail?  Only you can stop that and the best way is to delete it without opening it.  Lets keep the NO PARKING or STANDING signs up within our mind to stop all sinful thoughts from taking root.
