The hidden half of domestic violence
How to have eternal life
Name it and Claim it?
Often, in our interactive groups, we see people posting that some illness or calamity is because of sin in the persons life. Others say it is because of unbelief. While this may be true in some cases, it is not true for all.
We have seen many indicate that we can have anything we want if we just ask in the right way, and believe God will give it hard enough. Often we hear these people use verses such as:
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
We can see this does not mean physical healing in 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. but it indicates SPIRITUAL healing in that HIS suffering and death on the Cross enables US to be righteous.
Another verse those who feel we can name it and claim it use is Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. This does not make God our personal genie to grant our every request. No my friend, as we grow to Know our Lord better, learn to trust HIM more, we will learn to know that HE knows what is best for us and we will want that. He will give us the desire of our heart...which is to PLEASE HIM.
I have seen many indicate that some particular illness is caused by direct satanic attack. The only way satan has anything to do with some illness is from original sin..that is that we live in a fallen world.
We need to remember that satan can not do anything apart from having
permission from God. Oh yes, we can personally surrender ground to
him. satan has no power in a Christian other then what we allow him
to have. Most often we do that without even realizing it. You talk
about your daughter being born with medical problems and I realize
how hard that is..but remember the man who was born blind and well
lets look at it a moment:
1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this
man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents:
but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
This man did not have his sight stolen by satan. My friend, I sense
some of you may be suffering from a lot of false guilt that you caused some of
your illness or problems by doubt. It may not be your fault.
This is LOVE'S UNSEEN ENEMY
I firmly believe we have been blinded by satan in the name it and
claim it plan. This does not mean we can have anything we want by
naming it and claiming it if we have enough faith.
If this were true, millions would be Christians Just for the
new car, the new house...the new whatever. God wants us to come to
HIM for salvation of our souls first of all, and then to learn to
serve him because HE loves us..because HE helps us THROUGH the storms
of life..not because HE STOPS the storms.
JESUS bought our salvation...HE does NOT buy our love. He wants us
to give that to HIM in spite of what happens to us. Look at the 3
Hebrew children. Daniel...they served HIM in spite of what was and
did happen to them. GOD brought them through in the midst of the
God is still doing that today. He is bringing Brenda (one of our moderators or directors) thorough
handicaps. It will make it that much more precious when she and I
dance together on streets of gold..for I have promised I will do that
10,000 years into eternity when we have both spent our time with
JESUS first...the lover of our souls.
Fanny Crosby was blinded by a quack doctor.
Fanny did not look on her blindness as a terrible thing. She did not
look at it as her sight was stolen by satan. Even at eight she
composed this little verse:
Oh, what a happy child I am,
Although I cannot see!
I am resolved that in this world
Contented I will be!
How many blessings I enjoy
That other people don't!
So weep or sigh because I'm blind,
I cannot - nor I won't.
Today many of her hymns continue to draw souls to their Savior for
both salvation and comfort: " Blessed Assurance," "All the Way My
Savior Leads Me," "To God Be the Glory, " "Pass Me Not, O Gentle
Savior," " Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "Rescue the
Perishing," "Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross," "I Am Thine, O Lord,"
and many more.
She sought to bring others to her Savior not only through her hymns
but through her personal life as well. What happened when Fanny died?
Perhaps one of her later hymns tells it best:
When my lifework is ended and I cross the swelling tide,
When the bright and glorious morning I shall see,
I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side,
And His smile will be the first to welcome me.
I shall know Him, I shall know Him,
And redeemed by His side I shall stand!
I shall know Him, I shall know Him
By the print of the nails in His hand.
THIS is what it is about..the ability to serve and to love God in
spite of what occurs in our life.
The things said about Fanny Crosby can be repeated tens of thousands
of times over It is repeated when men are accused of crimes they did
not do yet they chose to serve the Lord. It is repeated in those who
can not walk because of weakened or missing legs, but they CHOSE to
run with the LORD. It is repeated with those who can not hear but
they hear the precious sweet whisper of our LORD
It is repeated by those holding sick children knowing that precious
child will not grow up to be "successful" members of society, but
knowing they are dearly loved by our LORD.
It has been repeated by those who lost their family and yet wrote
things like "It is well with my soul" The story can go on and on.
If everyone was assured all their human problems would be
solved, would not everyone be a Christian to get what they can get?
OH I am mad as satan too..but for causing so many to not trust JESUS
for salvation..for it does not matter if they did not have one single
problem in life...if they lose their souls.
THIS is what we need to focus on, living for God in spite of the
storms of life:
