The hidden half of domestic violence

How to have eternal life

Love Worth Finding

Often, those who have suffered abuse feel it is not worth the risk to
allow others to love us. As a result, we often go out of our way
to drive anyone away that seems to be getting too close. We will
insult them, call them names, and even will abuse them to get them to
back off. This in return will reinforce our own idea that we ourselves are ....UNLOVABLE.

WHY...why do we do this? For one, when we allow someone to love
us...we make ourselves open to being hurt. We allow someone to get
close and if we accept that love and they leave us...it HURTS. So as
result, we set up all sorts of barriers to prevent this...to make
sure they MEAN what they say. If they fail the test...no big
deal...we have proven once again that no one can love us.  YET.....we are longing for that someone to prove us wrong. We have that deep longing within for someone to love us...as we are. I want to share a song with you that has helped me so much:

I COULD NEVER OUT LOVE THE LORD

1. There've been times when giving and loving brought pain,
And I promised I would never let it happen again,
But I found out that loving was well worth the risk
And that even in losing you win.

CHORUS:

I'm going to live the way He wants me to live,
I'm going to give until there's just no more to give;
I'm going to love, love till there's just no more love,
I could never, never out love the Lord.

2. He showed us that only thru dying we live,
And He gave when it seemed there was nothing to give;
He loved when loving brought heartache and loss,
He forgave from an old rugged cross.

CHORUS:

I'm going to live the way He wants me to live,
I'm going to give until there's just no more to give;
I'm going to love, love till there's just no more love,
I could never, never out love the Lord.

--W & M by William J. and Gloria Gaither

My friend, love cost...but it only cost the giver for when we really
love unconditionally, we do not expect to get anything in return. Love goes on giving...and giving and giving. I can love YOU because I have been...and AM loved unconditionally. That love came from an old rugged cross. It goes on giving regardless of my response...but when love is returned...we are all rewarded greatly.

My precious friend...are you in need of love right now? Reach out to
the one who loves you the most...reach out to those NAILED SCARED
HANDS....He is waiting....waiting for you.

Next...allow us to let Jesus love you through us. We are here and we
care about YOU.

To those who know the Joy of being loved by the MASTER...I ask
you...are you loving others...as Christ has loved you? Oh yes, there
is a risk at doing this...but as the song goes:

I'm going to live the way He wants me to live,
I'm going to give until there's just no more to give;
I'm going to love, love till there's just no more love,
I could never, never out love the Lord.

Remember my friend....WE are the only Jesus many will ever see...do
they see LOVE? or do they see more of what the world has to offer?
There eternal destiny may well be in...YOUR HANDS.
