The hidden half of domestic violence
How to have eternal life
USS Indianapolis CA-35
On this Veterans Day, I want to pause
to remind us that freedom is
not free. The freedom to travel, to to work, to worship as we please
has been bought and paid for by so many others that gave their all.
The freedom to live forever was bought with a price too...Gods only
SON. Read on.
On 30 July 1945 the USS Indianapolis CA-35 departed Guam after
delivering top secret cargo, the atomic bombs that would change the
world a month later.
She proceeded on a direct route (no zig-zags to avoid enemy subs) and
At 12:15 A.M. 30 July 1945 she was hit by two torpedoes fired from the
Japanese sub I-58. She sank in 12 minutes. Although she was due in
port on the 31st, no over due report was issued which would have
resulted in an immediate search along the route she should have
taken. It was not until 10:25 A.M 2 Aug that survivors were observed
by a routine air patrol. The pilot landed his seaplane and
immediately radioed a mayday. He took as many on board the plane as
possible, including the floats and the wings. Of course he was not
able to take off again.
His mayday set off a massive rescue operation. ALL ships nearby were
dispatched at full speed to pull these men out of the water.
Out of a crew of 1199, 316 men were rescued. More then 800 were in
the water as the ship went down. Most of the over 500 that were alive
when the ship sank either drowned or were attacked by sharks as they
awaited rescue. More and more were giving up hope and just floating
off to drown as time went on. Even after the sea plane landed, many
thought actual rescue was still too far away to do any good.
Several ships steaming full ahead as they approached them at night
turned their search lights on and shined them into the air toward the
ship wreck. Of course, this was dangerous as it also gave their
position to any enemy sub which often lurked beneath the sea for such
an event as this...but they wanted to give HOPE TO THE HOPELESS! It
is estimated that these lights did save dozens of sailors as they
KNEW help was soon arriving just as many were ready to give up!
My Friend...Are YOU ship wrecked? In despair? Do You feel it is
There IS a beacon in the distance. If you do not KNOW the Lord, it is
the light that casts out all darkness.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the
world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall
have the light of life. John 8:12
Jesus is throwing out the life line to you now...grab it ...
If you do know HIM..but all seems hopeless, remember his anger
endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for
a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5
There are many promises that tell us our suffering will be worthy the
while. I can not begin to type all the things in my head now...
songs like Let the Lower LIGHTS be burning" and JESUS is the
lighthouse...That is why we have a lighthouse on our web site...to
shine a bright light into a dark world...
scripture that make me long to see JESUS...
Words of comfort, of hope.
LOOK..there in the Eastern sky...For as the lightning cometh out of
the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of
the Son of man be.
PLEASE>>>I BEG YOU>>>PLEASE BE READY! DON'T GIVE in to the despair..
there are BEACONS on the horizon...HELP is on the way...RESCUE is
1 Thessalonians 4
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead
in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we
ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
