The hidden half of domestic violence
How to have eternal life
What Can GOD Learn From US?
was talking to a friend yesterday and she told me that God learned from His creation. When discussing this more, I
asked her what she meant and thus I want to throw this question out to YOU.
I was going to write a message on this and essentially have, but want to give you a chance to answer this question before I do post that message.
Please prove your view with the Bible.
Please think of your answer before reading the rest of this message.
I had been feeling depressed and did not want to do much in
any of my groups. I felt like quitting, but I also knew I could not
quit. The Lord knew how I was feeling. He sent several to encourage
me and one to ahmmm provoke me...sort of. The encouragement came
when several noticed I did not post in my group. Apart from my
telling them I would be away, they felt something was wrong and one
sent me an e-card of encouragement. Others posted concern by IM, e-
mail and in other groups. Then came the final thing. Someone told
me that they knew God learned from the people He created. That did
it better then anything because I had to respond to this statement
and respond I did. What can God learn from US?
Let's go to HIS Word to find the answer.
1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest
my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted
with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou
knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot
attain unto it.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in
hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost
parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night
shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as
the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret,
and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy
book all my members were written, which in continuance were
fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is
the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand:
when I awake, I am still with thee.
19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me
therefore, ye bloody men.
20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy
name in vain.
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved
with those that rise up against thee?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way
Look at verse 4 again: "For there is not a word in my tongue, but,
lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether"
IF God knows all of our thoughts even before we existed..HOW can we
teach Him ANYTHING?
Sure, we are told that GOD tests us. We need to understand why this
testing is done. When we were in school, the teacher gave us test
but did he or she test us to find out what they did not know? or for
us to learn what WE did not know? Of course as a human, they did need
to find out what we did not know to discover what they needed to
stress. My friend, GOD knows what we know and what we do not
know....the testing is not for HIS sake...it is to let us know we
need to depend upon HIM. A few years ago, I was putting in a
sidewalk and was mixing several 80 pound bags of concrete. My 5 y/o
grandson was watching and he wanted to help so I asked him to get one
of those bags and bring it to me and told him to use all of the means
he had available to do so. He tried to lift it and bring it to me.
He could not. Did I ask him to do that to find out if he could? Of
course not. I knew he couldn't but in his mind, he was big and strong
and he wanted to please me so he was going to get that bag and bring
it to me. When he had a look of disappointment, I reminded him to
use all of his resources...everything he could think of to get it.
It then dawned upon him, He came got my hand and lead me to those
bags and said….pa pa you can help me. Together we did it! Still it
was harder for me to have him "help" me then if I did it myself, but
the look of joy on his face to know he was helping pa pa was well
Folks. This is why God tests us too....so we know we have to get HIM
to help us do the task.
According to Psalms 139, God knows all about us before we were even
thought of so can we teach Him anything? Of course not.
God is OMNISCIENT...or all knowing. Nothing catches Him by surprise
and there is never an emergency meeting in Heaven to find out what to
do about anything. Because of HIS perfect knowledge, HE already knows
what we will do.
Does this take away our free will? NO....Just as we do not take away
our kids freewill although we can often tell what they will do in a
given situation. Those who have been married for sometime also know
that often we know what each other are thinking. We learn how we
each tick and what makes us angry, happy, sad or a host of other
things. We can do all of this with our limited knowledge of each
other. Since God made us, HE knows so much more about us so HE knows
what we will do ten years from now.
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou
camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a
prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a
7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt
go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee,
saith the LORD.
9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the
LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
If you think that one says a lot about how much God knows us...check
out Ezekiel 11:5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said
unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of
Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of
Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them,
Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and
every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
John 2:24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he
knew all men,
In Romans11 we are told
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
What can we teach GOD? Absolutely NOTHING. This is good news my
friend, He knows what is our heart so we might just as well fess up
and get it over with. We can not keep anything secret from HIM but
we confess so that WE know we have sinned and that restores our
relationship with HIM (if we are saved) but remember HE did not
There are a few things God does not know....
1: He does not know a person HE does not LOVE..and this includes
YOU....He is not willing for any to perish. 2 Peter 3:9
2: He does not know a sin He can not forgive 1 John 1:9 and
1 John 2:1,2
3: If you are not a Christian, HE does not know a better time for
you to become one. Hebrews 9:27: And as it is appointed unto men
once to die, but after this the judgment:
None of us are promised a tomorrow...are YOU ready my friend?
