The hidden half of domestic violence

How to have eternal life

Be Strong and Take Courage!

Our country has recently seen our military in action. We have seen the
"march to Baghdad" in an awesome display of power and might. Many will be
talking about what was the most important aspect of this action. Was it the
air power that kept many of the enemy from getting close enough to attack
the groups troops? Or was it the ground troops themselves..the "ultimate
weapon"?

I contend that we can learn what the most important aspect was from looking
at history....Biblical history:

Deuteronomy 20
1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses,
and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the
LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest
shall approach and speak unto the people,
3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto
battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not
tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;
4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you
against your enemies, to save you.

Often our battles are not this type of battle. Far too often they are with
those we love. They are with our spouse, our children, and even our
brothers and/or sisters in Christ. There is so much truth to the
saying.."We hurt the ones we love"

Many of us are so weary of this constant battle. Just as we recover from
one, another battle starts. Often these may seem to be battles we have not
prepared for, we have not trained for..but there IS GOOD
NEWS....NOTHING....and I mean NOTHING takes the commander in chief by
surprise. We have even better news. In Iraq, the commanders were many
miles away. Their commander in chief was thousands of miles way...BUT the
Captain of the Host in our battle...is right beside us... Read the words of
this song...and Be strong and take courage

Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the Lord will go before you, and His light will show the way
Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the one who lives within you, will be strong in you today.

Why don't you give Him all of your fears
Why don't you let Him wipe all of your tears
He knows, He's been through pain before.

Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the Lord will go before you, and His light will show the way
Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the one who lives within you, will be strong in you today.

Nothing take you out of His hand
Nothing can face you that you can't command
I know that you will always be
In His love, in His power, you will be free

Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the Lord will go before you, and His light will show the way
Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the one who lives within you, will be strong in you today.

Are you weary from the battle my friend? Be strong and take courage, and
draw from that strength that is there.

Do you feel as I do so very often...that we can not do this anymore? Be
strong and take courage my friend....

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I
rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Not sure you know how to fight the battle my friend? Not sure what to say?
You are not alone. Most of us including myself do not have the foggiest
idea either. There are many times I have read post in Shattered Men and
other groups...post by those that are hurting so much, and I do not have a
clue as to what to say..but I know I have to say something. It is times
such as these, I take comfort in God's word to Jeremiah:

Jeremiah 1
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to
all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith
the LORD.
9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD
said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

You see my friend, GOD knew about these troubled times YOU would be facing.
He knew the battles that YOU would face, yet we can apply what God told
Jeremiah to you too:

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before
thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a
prophet unto the nations.

Oh we have not been ordained to be a "prophet to the nations" but we have
been ordained by God to do the job HE has given each of US!
Husbands....GOD has ordained YOU to LOVE your wife as Christ loves the
church.

Wives...GOD has ordained YOU to submit to your husband as Christ submitted
Himself to the FATHER.

NO....this does not mean we have to willing subject ourselves to abuse from
either our wife or husband. I explain this in

MARRIAGE...HIS DUTIES....HER DUTIES
http://www.shatterdmen.com/Marriage%20%20his%20and%20hers.htm

so I will not do so here again. The message here is that GOD holds each of
us responsible to do what HE wants US to do..regardless of what others do or
think about us doing HIS will.

Are you weary from the battle my friend? Be strong and take courage for we
have a much better deal then did those in the verses I posted first..we do
not have priest going before us....but we have JESUS going within us.

Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the one who lives within you, will be strong in you today.

My friend...if God is not within you today...this does not apply to you.
These promises of comfort are to HIS kids. BUT you can change that in the
next few moments. You can get this promise for yourself simply by following
the instructions given here:

The First Step Toward Better Relationships

Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the Lord will go before you, and His light will show the way
Be strong and take courage, do not fear or be dismayed
For the one who lives within you, will be strong in you today.
