The hidden half of domestic violence
Alabama
This is Steven's story.
He and
his children reside in Jacksonville, AL. They have lived in Alabama for more
than 4 years. His wife walked out on them 3 1/2 years ago. He has been raising
these girls. The youngest since birth and the mother walked out when she was
only 10 months old! The agreement was drawn up and he was given full custody.
She paid child support and had liberal visitation. She recently remarried and
decided she wanted to take the children on an extended vacation. He agreed. He
has never interfered with her right to see the children. She has basically
ignored them much of the time. They took them back to Florida where Steve was
to pick them up. When he arrived at the specified time and day he was met with
brute force by 4 police officers. He came up against the "blue shield" and
never suspected a thing. They harassed and intimidated him and gave him papers
that stated she had gotten temporary emergency custody. He was informed that he
could only see the children if invited and with a police escort.
These children were traumatized enough the day their mother abandoned them and
now she is doing this to them! This is outrageous. The allegations are
preposterous, she is grabbing at straws. Her husband is a border patrol officer
and has connections. These kids have resided in AL, attend school in AL and
there are many who know them and will vouch for their father. We have no idea
what these kids are being told or what they must think.
